Obituary: ROBERT HALL SAUNDERS, JR.
NEW BERN | Robert "Bob" Hall Saunders Jr., 78, of New Bern, passed away after a brief illness at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. He attended Wilmington Jr. College, now UNCW and also Wake Forest University. He retired from PCS Phosphate.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Hall Saunders Sr. and Mary Memory Saunders.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Evelyn Thigpen Saunders; son, Rodney and Kim Saunders of Moore, S.C.; daughters, Memory and Gabe Moreno, and Suzanne and Jeff Scott, all of New Bern; and six grandchildren, Jonathan, Conner and Emma Saunders, Robert and Mia Scott, and Gabrielle Moreno.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 15th at Centenary United Methodist Church with the Rev. Susan Pate Greenwood officiating. Interment will follow in New Bern Memorial Cemetery.The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Centenary United Methodist Church, Stained Glass Window Fund, PO Box 1388,New Bern, NC 28563 or Rones Chapel United Methodist Church, 138 Garner Chapel Road, Mount Olive, NC 28365.
